Missing On Way Back. These are the words that made up the last entry in the log book of RCAF Pilot Donald 'Rusty' Haug.

Rusty, a Regina boy, was shot down over the Bay of Biscay on November 10th, 1943. His body was never found.

At a farm auction nearly fifty years later, a suitcase containing Rusty's memorabilia was sold to the highest bidder for sixteen dollars. Within it, the buyer discovered a number of letters and family photographs. Rusty's log book, and medals, as well as letters of condolence to his mother from King George VI and the Minister of Defence.

This documentary takes these pieces and travels into the past. Voice-overs and interviews recreate significant events of Rusty's short life, exploring meaningful places and searching out the people who knew him.
