PARTNERS IN MOTION TAKES HOME 7 AWARDS AT WOLDFEST

Regina production company, Partners in Motion, received 7 awards at the 2001 WorldFest International Film Festival last week in Houston, Texas. With two productions, "Disasters of the Century" and "Men of Valour - Heroes of the Victoria Cross" taking Platinum, the highest award given, for best reality-based and biographical / autobiographical documentary programs.

"Disasters of the Century" a documentary series that looks not only at the devastating toll of natural and man-made disasters but also the far reaching implications of each tragedy on our own social history was awarded the Platinum Award for Best Reality-based Program. "Disasters of the Century" was produced by Nova Herman and was directed by Chris Triffo. Ron Goetz served as executive producer for the project. The program aired in Canada on History Television.

Partners in Motion's production "Men of Valour - Heroes of the Victoria Cross" won the Platinum Award for Best Biographical / Autobiographical Documentary. "Men of Valour" tells the courageous stories of 6 Canadian Victoria Cross recipients through personal reminiscences, photos, news footage, newspaper clippings and battle re-enactments. "Men of Valour" was produced by Paul Millar and was directed by Chris Triffo. Ron Goetz served as executive producer for the project. The program aired in Canada on History Television.

"13 Seconds, The Kent State Shootings" received a Bronze Award, for Best Documentary. The one-hour documentary revisits the events that occurred 30 years ago on May 4, 1970, when the Ohio National Guard opened fire on Kent State students protesting the Vietnam War. "13 Seconds" was produced by Ron Goetz, and directed by Chris Triffo, Partners in Motion, and Mark Mori, executive producer, Single Spark Pictures, Santa Monica, California.  The program aired in Canada on History Television and in the United States on TLC (The Learning Channel). "13 Seconds, The Kent State Shootings" has also received 6 awards, including Best of Showcase at the Showcase 2000 Gala and was a finalist at The New York Festivals.

"Partners in Motion looks forward to competing in the WorldFest International Film Festival each year; this year was especially exciting because of the two Platinum Awards," said Ron Goetz, CEO.

A commercial for SaskTel,"In the Summertime," was awarded Gold in the Household Consumer Products category. The commercial was produced for Brown Communications, with Mike Woroniak as creative director and Gary Niesner as producer.

A commercial for SGI, "Santa’s Little Helpers," was awarded Bronze in the Public Service category.  The commercial was produced for Palmer Jarvis Communications, with Graham Lloyd as creative director and Gary Niesner as producer.

A video for the City of Regina's, Cool Down the City campaign, entitled "Climate Change" was awarded Bronze in the Educational / Instructional - Children's category. While, a print advertisement campaign for Saskferco, "Total Quality - Total Commitment," was awarded Silver in the Newspaper - Campaign category.
