April 12, 2004 AWARD NOMINATIONS CELEBRATED ENROUTE TO MOUNT EVEREST! Partners in Motion, a Regina-based, Emmy® Award Winning production company, is proud to announce that its documentary, Back to Everest, received nominations for a Houston WorldFest Medal and a Canada Golden Sheaf Award in the category of Documentary Biography. Back to Everest is the story of a Canadian hero, Dave Rodney, who, true to character, is currently guiding a trek to Mount Everest's Base Camp in Nepal. Back to Everest airs on Global Television on April 17th, 2004, at 8PM. The story begins on May 13, 1999, when Rodney pulled himself to the summit of Mount Everest. He was exhausted and jubilant. But celebration twisted into despair when Mount Everest proveed just how merciless it could be. It changed his life. In May, 2001, Rodney stood at the foot of Mount Everest for a second time. He was a more experienced climber, however, he was plagued by memories of the 1999 trip. Could he make it to the summit a second time? Would Everest claim another life? In Back to Everest, we follow Rodney's two attempts at the mountain's summit. Breathtaking videography takes us to the edge of the icefall and beyond. Rodney shares his personal story and captures our imaginations. Each step heightens our anticipation of the final reach for the summit. "This recognition is wonderful for Partners in Motion," says Chris Triffo, Director and President of Partners in Motion, "It proves Saskatchewan continues to produce high quality documentaries with global appeal." Dave Rodney will be available for phone interviews from Nepal on April 15th, 2004. For more information on the show, or to book an interview with Chris Triffo or Dave Rodney, contact:
