DOCUMENTARY PRESENTS NEW EVIDENCE IN FAMOUS DONNELLY MASSACRE

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 18th at 8:00 PM EST
(Repeated Monday, September 26th at 9:00 PM EST)

This brand new documentary from Emmy® Award-winning Partners in Motion reexamines one of Canada's most famous and controversial murders. On February 4th, 1880, a vigilante mob surrounded two homesteads belonging to the Donnelly family. James Donnelly, his wife, two of their sons and a niece were bludgeoned and shot to death. Despite witness testimony, no conviction was ever made and the Donnelly massacre became the stuff of legend. 125 years later, Midnight Massacre: The Donnelly Murders attempts to find answers.

While high-end reenactments and CG animation retell the Donnelly story, Detective Michael Boyd approaches the case from the perspective of a modern investigator. One of Canada's top Homicide Detectives, he uses modern techniques to reach back in History and bring justice to those who can no longer speak for themselves. As he takes on the task of Historical Detective, Boyd is joined by Donnelly's expert and author, Ray Fazakas.

"This is the first time experts of this caliber have ever tackled this famous historical case using modern investigative techniques," says Chris Triffo, Director and President of Partners in Motion, "In the documentary, Detective Boyd and Ray Fazakas make some fascinating revelations about what really happened that night. They provide new information to one of Canada's most infamous, unsolved cases."

Partners in Motion is a company renowned for its work in historical documentaries and series. Midnight Massacre: The Donnelly Murders will air on History Television Sunday, September 18th at 8PM EST and rebroadcast Monday, September 26th at 9PM EST.
