March 17, 2004 NATIONAL FILM BOARD AND PARTNERS IN MOTION ANNOUNCE WORLDWIDE DISTRIBUTION DEAL March 17, 2004, Cannes - The National Film Board of Canada (NFB) and Partners in Motion have concluded an agreement granting the NFB worldwide distribution and representation rights to over 200 hours of Partners in Motion programming. This agreement bolsters the NFB's already huge library, granting the Canadian public film producer and distributor rights to such acclaimed Partners in Motion programs as the Emmy® Award-winning "13 Seconds, The Kent State Shootings"; and the series "Crime Stories" and "Weather Untamed". "At the NFB, we have a long and distinguished track record of bringing top-notch Canadian programs to the world," said Johanne St-Arnauld, Director General, NFB Distribution. "It's only fitting that we're now partnering with Partners in Motion - a made-in-Canada success story - and adding their great titles to our own." "This distribution deal provides us with a strong international sales team while allowing us to retain substantial control as a producer. We've been looking a long time for this kind of relationship," said Ron Goetz, CEO of Partners in Motion. Based in Regina, Saskatchewan, Partners in Motion Inc. was established as a film and video production company in July of 1993. Partners in Motion consistently achieves a high standard in both their national and international television series and high-end documentaries, which have been licensed in over 150 countries and for which they have won multiple awards. Since its creation in 1939, the National Film Board of Canada has produced over 10,000 films and won over 4000 awards - including 10 Oscars®. As Canada's public film producer, the NFB produces and distributes distinctive, culturally diverse, challenging and relevant audiovisual works that provide Canada and the world with a unique Canadian perspective.
