PARTNERS IN MOTION GATHERS 7 NOMINATIONS FOR GOLDEN SHEAFS

Regina production company, Partners in Motion, received 7 nominations for the 2001 Golden Sheaf Awards yesterday. "13 Seconds, The Kent State Shootings" received 5 nominations, including Best of Saskatchewan.

The one-hour documentary revisits the events that occurred 30 years ago on May 4, 1970, when the Ohio National Guard opened fire on Kent State students protesting the Vietnam War. In 13 seconds, 67 bullets were fired, killing 4 students and wounding 12 others- horrifying an entire nation.  This dramatic event was the beginning of the turning point that saw the United States begin to pull out of the Vietnam War.

In addition to Best of Saskatchewan, "13 Seconds" also received a nomination for Best Social Documentary. Craft nominations were awarded to Chris Triffo for Best Director, and Trevor Aikman for Best Editor and for Best Sound. "13 Seconds" was produced by Ron Goetz, Partners in Motion, and Mark Mori, Executive Producer, Single Spark Pictures, Santa Monica, California. The program aired in Canada on History Television and in the United States on TLC (The Learning Channel). "13 Seconds, The Kent State Shootings" has also received 6 awards, including Best of Showcase at the Showcase 2000 Gala and was a finalist at The New York Festivals.

Partners in Motion's production "Men of Valour - Heroes of the Victoria Cross" is also nominated in the Best of Saskatchewan category.  "Men of Valour" tells the courageous stories of 6 Canadian Victoria Cross recipients through personal reminiscences, photos, news footage, newspaper clippings and battle re-enactments. "Men of Valour" was produced by Paul Millar and was directed by Chris Triffo. Ron Goetz served as executive producer for the project. The program aired in Canada on History Television.

"Partners in Motion looks forward to attending the Yorkton Short Film and Video Festival each May. This year is especially exciting because of the two nominations in the Best of Saskatchewan category," said Ron Goetz, CEO.

A commercial for SaskTel,"In the Summertime," is nominated for Best Commercial. The commercial was produced for Brown Communications, with Mike Woroniak as creative director and Gary Niesner as producer.
