Simon Dekker

Producer

Simon has been producing films, television and online content since 1991, following seven years as a commercial director of photography.  Simon studied production management at The Banff Centre for Management Studies, line production with Robert Bordiga in Santa Monica, story and structure with Robert McKee in Los Angeles, financing, licensing and contracting through the Toronto Independent Film Liaison and distribution strategies through FTX Vancouver.

Simon has produced work from children’s programs to sports documentaries, from music and dance specials to national and international commercials.  His work has screened at festivals and competitions in Canada, USA and Europe and he has received awards including a Worldfest Gold Special Jury Award, a Gold Bessie, five Rosies, a Silver Summit Award and, most recently, Best Movie at Toronto’s ReelSound Festival.
