On This Day - September 28 - Hurricane Juan

Canada’s east coast is no stranger to severe winter weather. But on this day in 2003, Hurricane Juan crashed into the Atlantic coast with unmatched fury. Packing hundred-mile-an-hour winds, Juan flipped cars, tore off roofs and drove a massive storm surge into structures up and down the coast. Six people died, and three maritime provinces suffered major damage.
